Lester Fauver enlisted in the service February 11, 1944 in Richmond, VA."I enlisted with hope to be a pilot but was told they had enough so I signed up to be a gunner.

Upon my discharge on 1/10/1946 at Fort Meade, Maryland, I went to high school for 6 months then graduated. I attended college for one year then got married"

Lester and Particia Fauver were married November 1947; they have 3 children, a daughter and two sons and 4 grandchildren.

"I was a deputy sheriff and took employment in September 1947 as a Enforcement Officer with the Virginia Alcohol Control Commission.

I retired May 1989 with 41 years 9 months as a Law Enforcement Officer and was State Assistant Director from 1974 to 1989."
