Michael Serafin was born in 1924 in Akron, OH.

He was raised in Newberry, MI, on the UP.

He was a track star in high school, holding state records that stood for many years.

After graduating from high school, he joined the Army Air Corp, and flew missions over Japan on the B-29 "Burnin' Desire".

He and his wife, Mary Lou have 2 sons and 3 grandchildren.

After WWII, he graduated from Michigan Tech with a degree in Chemical Engineering.

He joined the DuPont company in textile fibers, moving to Wilmington, DE.

He retired from DuPont in 1987 after a long and successful career.

Michael enjoyed fishing, bowling, and working around the house.
