1st Lt David G. Wagner, was assigned as Pilot after Crew 6's 2nd mission. Wagner was later assigned to Replacement Crew 21 as their pilot after the 19 May Forced Landing of Crew 6.

David G. Wagner entered the service Oct, 7, 1942 at Ft. Leavenworth, KS. He seperated from the service December 10, 1947 at Fort Mac Arthur, California.He was on Guam from April 1945 - December 1945.

After the war He worked in various occupations including carpentry, auto mechanics, finally obtaining a college teaching degree in his 50's.

He taught auto mechanics to young men in a large state run center in Vernon, Texas where these young men were placed for drug addictions and criminal activity.

He and his wife Wilma both retired from the school system and lived in Vernon, Texas.

They raised three boys and one girl. Their oldest son (retired) as an engineer with Bell Telephone, the next son is an insurance adjuster with Allstate,  and the third is a physician in Tennessee, their daughter and her husband own a mechanical company in Vernon, Texas.  They have 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren with more on the way.

David G. Wagner took his Final Flight on 23 April 2010. He was buried in Vernon, TX with full military honors.
