A third attack on Osaka followed an abortive effort at Chiba, which was on 9 - 10 June.

The daylight attack on Osaka of 15 June was carried out by thirty-one B-29s from the 39th Bomb Group. Air opposition was reported nil and flak encountered was considered moderate and inaccurate.

The target was completely socked in and bombing was done by radar. Winds were averaged at forty-two knots.

Damage to Osaka and nearby Amagasaki as a result of this attack totaled 2.49 square miles, comprising 3.1 % of Osaka and 8.6 % of Amagasaki. Damage to Osaka had now been increased to 25.6 % of the city.
